Job Summary

A vacancy at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The North Yorkshire Breast Imaging Unit is based in a purpose‑built facility that brings together Imaging, Outpatient Services, and the Multi‑Disciplinary Team under one roof. The ability to travel with equipment across North Yorkshire is an essential requirement for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide mammography screening on three mobile units covering over 21 locations, plus static units in York and Scarborough.
  • Deliver comprehensive symptomatic breast service, including one‑stop assessment and follow‑up clinics.
  • Collaborate with Surgery, Pathology, Oncology, and Breast Care Nursing colleagues for integrated patient care.
  • Support clinical assessment with Breast Care Nurses and Advanced Practitioners, and provide biopsy support.
  • Read and interpret film, participate in ultrasound and biopsy roles under specialist breast radiologists.
Qualifications
  • PG Certificate in Mammography (if not held, a full training programme over 12–18 months will be provided).
  • Experience with Hologic and SECTRA equipment preferred.
  • Female applicant (exception to Equality Act 2010 due to the mobile single‑sex service).
