This post is part time (25 hours per week).
We seek a qualified pharmacist with excellent clinical and communication skills to join our pharmacy team as a Band 7 clinical pharmacist. You will have at least 2 years post-registration experience, have completed or be completing a post‑graduate clinical pharmacy qualification, and possess well‑developed clinical pharmacy skills. We would also welcome applications from pharmacists with experience in acute or primary care, keen to explore new career opportunities. The opportunity may also arise to extend practice into mental health services.
In addition to travel, your duties will include regular dispensary shifts at the Trust dispensary in Chelmsford and an on‑call commitment, so having access to your own vehicle is an essential requirement.
The post-holder will be supported to develop their clinical and management skills through funded postgraduate study. For those without such qualifications, this would include a postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in clinical pharmacy practice, as well as development as an independent prescriber.
You will provide clinical pharmacy services, enhance patient pharmaceutical care, support the provision and development of medicines management services, and participate in training, education, and audit. The department provides support for the care of the elderly and rehabilitation beds, and patients can be complex, requiring infusions, oxygen and basic ventilation. You may need to provide advice for patients based in the community being cared for by EPUT's community teams. You will be based in Rochford.
Your primary role will be to provide clinical services, develop the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to MDT meetings and ward rounds, and deliver medicines education to patients, carers, and staff. Ensuring smooth transitions at the interface and from inpatient care to community teams, home, and care homes will be an essential part of the role. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
You should hold a Master's Degree in Pharmacy or an equivalent qualification and be currently registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. We welcome applicants from any background who have the experience and passion to manage clinical services in a hospital setting. You should be able to demonstrate evidence of postgraduate training, or equivalent experience, and continuing professional development in clinical pharmacy practice.
Valuing you. Recognising your dedication. At EPUT, we look after you.
