Job description
Overview

This post provides a specialist service within CAMHS to young people and their families within the Emotional and Behavioural (E&B) Team. The post holder will conduct specialist CAMHS assessment and offer treatment (both individual and group) for young people aged 6-18 presenting with a range of mental health difficulties. This will include young people in the E&B team and on our green waiting list and Front Door Team. The post holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary team. The role includes work with the wider network, being part of the duty system and supervisory responsibilities.

The E&B team works with young people across the age range with a wide range of presentations from moderate to severe mental illness, including those who have experienced trauma and abuse and those presenting with suicidality and self-harm. The E&B teams are composed of a mix of disciplines including Clinical Psychology, Systemic Family Therapy, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Mental Health Nursing, Creative Therapy and Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. There is a broad range of therapy groups offered and the post holder would be supported and encouraged to develop skills in group work, alongside individual clinical work.

Front Door Team responsibilities
  • Triaging referrals into CAMHS
  • Effectively assessing and prioritising clinical complexity and risk
  • Effectively liaising with referrers, professionals, partners and agencies in relation to referrals, assessments and any other general queries
