Job description
SEN Teacher - Secondary Provision

Veritas Education are working with a fantastic special needs provision who are looking for an experienced, dedicated and passionate teacher to join their team. The provision supports children of a secondary age groups with a range of learning, communication needs, and Autism.

The provision is looking for a teacher who can help create an inclusive, interactive and progressive learning environment, where all learners have the opportunity to develop their social and academic skills across the curriculum.

The Role:
  • Teach across varying secondary classes, delivering core content of a range of subjects, adapting each lesson to meet the needs and abilities of that group.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver suitable and engaging lesson content to ensure learners are learning new skills and knowledge across their education.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of the students, whether that is tailoring sessions to meet specific communication needs or implementing activities which are practical based to support sensory requirements.
  • Work alongside learning support staff in creating a managed classroom environment, to keep learners on task, and manage any crisis or disruptive behaviour in and around the lesson.
  • Be confident in supporting a range of learning needs, from Autism, Asperger's, communication needs (Learners who are pre or potentially non-verbal) and sensory requirements.

All applicants must have the following essential requirements/qualifications:

  • Hold a UK QTS certificate
  • Available Full TimePrevious experience teaching special educational needs or within an SEN setting/school is essential.
