Job summary

Open Cosmos Ltd. is seeking a talented embedded software engineer to design, implement, and validate satellite flight software within our Data Division.

You will work across Systems, Electronics, and Mission Operations teams to ensure robust software that meets mission requirements while adhering to ECSS standards. The role emphasizes Rust or C/C++ expertise, Linux/RTOS development, and rigorous verification, with opportunities to influence post-launch operations and continuous process

Qualifications

• Experience with Rust or C/C++ and willingness to transition to Rust in production.
• Proficiency in Linux development environments and scripting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, pytest).
• Understanding of secure coding and fault-tolerant design in mission-critical software.
• Knowledge of RTOS concepts and embedded software development.
• Awareness of spacecraft subsystems and how software interfaces with them.
• Knowledge of ECSS standards and their practical implications for software development.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, validating, and maintaining satellite flight software.
• Supporting ground tools to ensure robustness and traceability for space missions.
• Developing features for Linux and RTOS-based systems per requirements.
• Participating in code reviews, testing campaigns, and CI/CD processes.
• Maintaining configuration control and full software traceability.
• Collaborating with Systems, Electronics, and Mission Operations teams.
• Contributing to post-launch operations and build/integration activities.
• Driving continuous improvement in architecture, design, and processes.
