Job summary

Open Cosmos Ltd. is seeking an embedded software engineer to design, implement and validate satellite flight software.

You will work across Linux and RTOS environments, collaborate with Systems, Electronics, and Mission Operations to ensure robust cross-functional integration, and contribute to post-launch activities. The role emphasizes secure coding, fault-tolerant design, and adherence to ECSS standards while using CI/CD pipelines to deliver reliable space software.

Qualifications

• Strong programming in Rust or C/C++, with ability to transition to Rust.
• Proficient in Linux development with scripting and tooling.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation (GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, pytest).
• Knowledge of secure coding and fault-tolerant design for mission-critical software.
• Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems and ECSS standards.
• Understanding of RTOS concepts in embedded/space environments.
• Experience in software verification, validation, and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, validate, and maintain satellite flight software.
• Support ground tools, ensuring robustness and traceability for space missions.
• Develop features for Linux and RTOS-based systems per requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, testing campaigns, and CI/CD processes.
• Maintain configuration control and full software traceability.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electronics, and Mission Operations teams.
• Contribute to post-launch operations and integration activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in architecture and development processes.
