Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Reading is seeking a Sous Chef to support the head chef and lead a culinary team in delivering a nutritionally balanced, high-quality service for our residents, while contributing to overall wellbeing and maintaining budgetary targets.

The ideal candidate will hold a catering qualification, such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent, and have at least 1 year of catering experience. DBS disclosure and UK work eligibility are required.

• Have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high-quality culinary services for residents.

Responsibilities

• Supervising culinary staff and demonstrating to unqualified staff.
• Ensuring safe food handling and hygiene standards.
• Supporting the culinary team in understanding the Avery Food safety management system.
