Job summary

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm, dedicated Sous Chef at Derby Heights Care Home in Littleover, Derby, to support the head chef in leading a culinary team and delivering a nutritionally balanced, high-quality service for residents.

You should hold a catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent) and have at least one year of catering experience. A DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of catering experience or more.
• Caring and compassionate service to residents.
• Able to adapt to a variety of kitchen duties and staff supervision.

Responsibilities

• Preparing modified diets that are well-balanced and compliant with IDDSI guidelines.
• Supervising culinary staff as directed by Head Chef and training junior staff.
• Ensuring high hygiene standards and safe food handling in all kitchen activities.
• Supporting all team members in understanding Avery Food safety management system.
