Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group in Bristol is seeking a warm Sous Chef to join Avonmere Care Home. You will support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team delivering nutritious, high-quality meals within budget.

We require a catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1/706/2 or NVQ or equivalent) and at least 1 year of catering experience. You should be adaptable, committed to residents' welfare, and able to work flexibly.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent).
• Have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high-quality culinary services for residents.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare modified diets that are appealing and compliant with IDDSI guidance.
• Supervise and direct the kitchen team as directed by the Head Chef.
• Maintain the highest hygiene standards through safe food handling practices.
• Support culinary staff in understanding Avery Food safety management system.
