Avery Park Care Home in Kettering is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering a high-quality, nutritionally balanced culinary service for residents. You will lead kitchen staff, supervise food preparation, and ensure safety and hygiene standards across modified diets and daily menus.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant catering qualification - City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary services to residents.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Support the head chef in leading a culinary team to provide a nutritionally balanced, high-quality service.
• Prepare modified diets that are appealing and in line with IDDSI guidance.
• Supervise and direct culinary staff, and train unqualified staff on basic food preparation.
• Ensure high hygiene standards through safe food handling and adherence to Avery Food safety management system.
