Job summary

A hospitality company is seeking a Sous Chef for the Holiday Inn Glasgow - City Centre Theatreland. You will support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards. Hours : 40 hours across 5 days per week

Salary : 15.70 per hour

Atlas Hotels is hiring a Sous Chef right now at the Holiday Inn Glasgow - City Centre Theatreland .

Whilst previous experience of working in hotels would be useful its not essential.

As a Sous Chef you will support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen ensuring all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards. You will supervise junior kitchen staff maintain hygiene and safety standards contribute to menu planning control stock and actively participate in training and development. So what does a Sous Chef do
  • Supervise preparation and presentation of all food items ensuring quality consistency and adherence to hotel standards.
  • Support menu planning specials and event catering incorporating team ideas where practical.
  • Oversee junior kitchen staff providing guidance coaching and ensuring development opportunities.
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene safety and compliance with COSHH and HACCP procedures.
  • Monitor equipment report faults and ensure proper storage and maintenance.
  • Assist with rosters and staff scheduling in line with budget and operational requirements.
  • Control food purchasing manage stock levels and minimise wastage while achieving budgeted food costs.
  • Deliver a service-first approach ensuring food and beverage excellence contributes to exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with health hygiene and fire safety regulations reporting any incidents or risks promptly.
  • Take accountability for tasks maintaining a professional approach and a positive team culture.
  • Step up as Head Chef when required ensuring the smooth running of kitchen operations.
