GENERAL SUMMARY

Provide high quality diagnostic imaging to the physicians to work collaboratively to diagnose and care for patients.

Principal Responsibilities

• Complies with all NEWH policies and procedures.
• Communicates with patients to explain exams being performed.
• Assists with protocoling the ultrasound schedule and entering ultrasound orders.
• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in order to provide high quality imaging.
• Strong ability to multitask while keeping composure.
• Adheres to AIUM guidelines and standards.
• Maintains clean, organized, and well-stocked ultrasound rooms, communicating restocking needs to staff responsible for ordering.
• Sterilizes ultrasound probes according to protocol and maintains an accurate log.
• Assists providers in performing ultrasound guided procedures as requested.
• Communicates the results of the ultrasound to the provider and assists with rooming the patient when appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Completion of an accredited Ultrasound program.
• 1-2 years experience in OB/Gyn sonography.
• Ability to work with Electronic Medical Records software.

Physical Requirements

• Work requires the ability to move patient care equipment.
• Work requires the ability to operate sonography equipment.
• Work requires the ability to lift/move/position patients.
• Work requires the ability to lift/move boxes of supplies up to 30 pounds.

The employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
