Job summary

A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a skilled Sonographer to join their dynamic radiology team in Andover. In this role, you will perform a variety of ultrasound examinations and help train student Sonographers. The ideal candidate will have a PgD in Ultrasound or similar qualifications and a passion for patient care. Flexible working patterns are available.

Main duties of the job

We undertake a variety of examinations for ED, inpatients, outpatients and GP patients including urology, baby hips, MSK, vascular, gynae and soft tissue. We also offer ultrasound access for ambulatory services such as Stroke and Same Day Urgent Care.

As part of the role you will perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations: General Abdominal, Gynaecological, Small Parts, Musculoskeletal, Vascular, Neonatal Hip and Inpatients (Obstetric Ultrasound is run by a separate Department). You will also participate in student Sonographer training and support the service as it develops.

Training & Qualifications
  • Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (DMU), a Post Graduate Diploma (PgD) in Diagnostic Ultrasound from a CASE accredited course in the United Kingdom or equivalent.
Experience
  • Demonstrate extensive clinical knowledge of ultrasound scanning techniques and appropriate technology in multiple areas.
  • Demonstrate experience in an acute clinical setting such as the NHS.
  • Previous experience in research projects/publications.
Skills
  • Ability to plan and organise complex activities as part of an MDT.
  • Experience of audit.
