The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented Solution Architect with subject matter expertise in the UK Rail Revenue distribution within the LENNON core service to join our LENNON Transformation project team. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years previous LENNON experience and be well‑versed in the core skill of Cool:Gen in online and batch environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for reverse engineering existing Cool:Gen batch and online modules to support a third‑party supplier in the re‑design and re‑development in SCALA.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
  • Review existing documentation and Cool:Gen source code to reverse engineer specifications to be provided to a third‑party supplier for subsequent re‑development, testing and delivery into live operation.
  • Work with existing Solution Architects to redesign the infrastructure in a way that allows a smooth transition away from an Oracle Cool:Gen application to a new DBMS (TDB) and SCALA application.
  • Requirements: strong background with Oracle, Unix scripting, PL/SQL, SQL, C, batch job scheduling to form part of the overall design.
  • Work with the existing LENNON support teams to support the Third Party Supplier with any questions they may have, acting as their single point of contact so the BAU support teams can concentrate on the live service.
  • Form a good working relationship with the existing BAU support teams to ensure a smooth transition of knowledge.
  • Support the Third Party and LENNON Testing teams with testing of the re‑engineered solution.
