Job description

We are looking to recruit a Social Worker - Support and Safeguarding Team within the Children's Social Care industry in Windsor & Maidenhead on a permanent basis paying £44,799-£48,932 P/Annum.

Responsibilities:
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in line with the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, Children and Families Act 2014, and working Together to Safeguard Children guidance, giving due consideration to their race, culture, religion and linguistic background.
  • Carry a caseload and be responsible for assessment and planning for children and young people in compliance with casework objectives, statutory and departmental policy and procedural requirements, consistently maintaining the highest level of professional standards.
  • Undertake direct social work responsibilities as an allocated worker to the children and young people assigned, investigating concerns regarding a child or young person's safety or wellbeing, make an assessment of the risk and protective factors in the family and decide on the most appropriate course of action.
  • To ensure the provision of clear written reports to child protection conferences, reviews, planning meetings and any other purpose as required, ensuring good quality casework analysis and risk assessment is evident throughout.
  • Ensuring reports and case notes prepared for Court are of high quality, to support giving evidence in Court, as required.
  • Case recording to effectively evidence the voice of the child and progress of plans.
Skills / Experience:
  • Proven experience of building effective relationships with children, young people and families.
  • Able to use evidence and professional judgement to make decisions and determine the risk of future harm.
  • Experience with CIN/CP/LAC.
  • Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy) and producing accurate reports, written updates to a range of stakeholders (which may include families, children or young people).
  • Knowledge of relevant theory that informs practice.
  • Knowledge of the legal powers and key duties required when safeguarding children and young people, including key legislation both locally and nationally.
  • Experience of assessing the needs of children and their families in accordance with the Framework for the Assessment.
  • Excellent written skills and experience writing comprehensive reports for the Courts.
  • Experienced in the use of ICT, including MS Word, Outlook, Google docs and case record management systems.
  • Car drivers holding current full driving licence and to have use of their own car for work purposes.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Post qualified experience within the UK Social Care industry.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Active Social Work England registration and proven evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Completion of ASYE.
