Social Worker - Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

We currently have a great opportunity for a qualified and dedicated Social Worker to join the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team, based in Accrington.

About us:

The MASH Service is Lancashire's front door into Children's Services and the first steps to achieving positive outcomes for children, young people, and families.

We are a team of co-located safeguarding partners, whose primary role is to search and interpret information to determine thresholds and necessary action to safeguard children and young people.

About the role:

As a social worker in the MASH team, you will be committed to achieving the best outcomes for children, young people and families across the county. You will work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team while also building strong relationships with partner agencies. Ultimately our aim is to keep young people free from harm, by undertaking social work assessments and ensuring the right support is provided at the right time.

The role will be based in Lancashire House, Accrington, however travel across the county may be required dependent on service need.

About you:

We are looking for a committed professional to join our team of Social Workers. Our ideal candidate would be someone who has:

  • Recognised Social Work Qualification & registration with Social Work England
  • Experience in Children's Social Care Services, particularly in a safeguarding capacity
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation/principles and the ability to apply these in practice.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies while also engaging with families.
  • Organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise caseload and apply appropriate risk analysis based on limited information.
