A local government authority in Bridgend is seeking an experienced Social Worker for the Information, Advice & Assistance (IAA) Team. You'll work in a collaborative environment with partner agencies, focused on safeguarding children and supporting families per the Social Services & Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014. The position offers a hybrid working model, opportunities for professional development, and robust support for newly qualified and experienced social workers alike.
Bridgend County Borough Council offers a great opportunity for you to further your social care career. We want the best social workers to join us – this is what our children and families deserve.
We are a reflective organisation that continuously builds on its strengths and is committed to the principle that the most effective way of improving outcomes for all Children, Young People and Families is through the provision of accessible, universal services. Join us and you will work in a rewarding environment where staff are valued.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Worker to join the Information, Advice & Assistance (IAA) Team that sits within the MASH (Multi‑agency Safeguarding Hub). The MASH work is close collaboration with partner agencies such as South Wales Police and Health to support families in line with the Social Services & Well‑Being (Wales) Act 2014, and safeguarding our most vulnerable children.
We encourage applications from both experienced Social Workers and newly qualified. In return you will receive a robust induction, regular supervision, additional support and mentoring where required. Our Social Work practice model of Signs of Safety is fully implemented within our IAA Service, so you will receive training and support in this model.
Additionally, you will be able to further your career with both development and promotional opportunities, and you may contact Lucy Ward, IAA Team Manager on 01656 642320 for further information.
The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
