About the role

Are you a Social Worker ready to make a real, positive impact on another person's life with an interest in also supporting those with hearing and vision loss? The part you play will offer a real difference to ensure our service continues to develop and grow, achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable people from 18 years onwards. It's a challenging role, but there's no shortage of rewards. In return, we offer development opportunities to train and work within a supportive team environment. This role is an excellent opportunity to develop your practice during regular supervision, peer reflective sessions, and practice development workshops. We offer a hybrid way of working with an expectation of office attendance a minimum of 1 day per week.

Key responsibilities

You will be part of an established, dynamic and busy team, and will be creative in your approach to the needs of our community and build on peoples' assets with a strength-based approach. This is a fast paced, exciting role, for a practitioner who can manage change effectively and demonstrate your ability to be resilient under pressure. You will need to be confident and competent in assessing risk, identifying appropriate need and have experience of providing social care/multidisciplinary interventions. The ability to work effectively in a team, commitment to customer service and excellent communication skills are essential. In person assessments and reviews in the community we serve are an essential part of the role therefore an ability to meet the travelling requirements of this post will need to be demonstrated.

Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have a wide range of safeguarding experience and an ability to work independently and part of a team. They will have an in depth experience of risk assessment and complex case management work. Also a good knowledge base and understanding of completing assessments under the Care Act 2014 and working within the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
