Overview
The Social Media Video Editor transforms long-form content into engaging short-form social media content, with a primary focus on identifying and creating compelling clips from podcast and video content. This role requires a keen eye for viral moments and the ability to work independently to maximise content reach without requiring input from content creators.
This role is based full-time in-house at our Team Valley Office (Gateshead). Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.
Responsibilities
- Review long-form podcast and video content to identify engaging clips suitable for social media
- Edit and create short-form content (reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) from long-form material
- Develop content that captures audience attention and drives engagement across all social platforms with strategic understanding of what content is truly worth repurposing
- Create behind-the-scenes and office content that showcases company culture
- Adapt content for different social media platforms, understanding each platform\'s unique requirements and audience preferences
- Work independently to maximise content output without requiring creator time or input
- Stay current with social media trends, viral formats, and platform algorithm changes
- Maintain consistent posting schedules and high content quality standards
- Support UGC (User Generated Content) editing and related content initiatives as needed
- Collaborate with marketing team to ensure content aligns with brand voice and campaign objectives
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong video editing skills with proficiency in editing software (Adobe Premiere, or similar).
- Excellent understanding of social media platforms and their specific content requirements.
- Keen eye for identifying engaging, shareable moments within long-form content
- Knowledge of current social media trends, viral content formats, and platform algorithms.
- Understanding of audience engagement and what drives social media performance, whilst aligning with the wider marketing activities.
- Creative storytelling abilities for short-form content.
- Time management skills to handle multiple projects and maintain consistent output.
- Adaptability to learn new platforms and content formats as social media evolves.
