Social Media & Community Manager

Salary up to £35,000 (depending on experience)

The Social Media Manager position oversees all the Dermalogica UK & IRE social media platforms. This role requires a creative and analytical mindset for a fast-paced, always-on role within the UK Marketing Department. We are looking for a hands-on, creative social media enthusiast who loves digging into the data as much as they love creating content.

Job Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in social media management, with a proven track record of success

  • Experience within luxury/beauty industry is a plus

  • Must be able to collaborate and build strong inter-departmental relationships in a large company

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to think creatively and execute tasks while using a data-driven mindset to guide future programs, posts, and campaigns

  • Strong eye for design and aesthetics; photography and photo/video editing skills a plus

  • Passion for the luxury skincare, health and beauty industries; experience in one or more of these industries is ideal

  • Must be detail oriented, reliable, and able to meet deadlines

  • Must be happy to appear on the Dermalogica channels/be included in the content

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the UK social media strategy across all key platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube.

  • Own the social media schedule, work closely with the Marketing Manager, Communications Manager and Influencer Manager – weaving brand stories into all social initiatives and ensuring content is led by the brand calendar (including but not limited to driving in-store purchases, traffic and conversions to dermalogica.com, supporting our professional salon channel and PR teams’ influencer activity).

  • Develop original content for the channels – focusing on repurposing influencer content and UGC from the Dermalogica community (in alignment with the Influencer Manager), as well as utilizing brand assets from our Global team, briefing into the graphic design team and creating in-house video and static content for all platforms.

  • Oversee all aspects of digital community management; moderate comments and private messages daily, engaging with our audience in the Dermalogica brand voice to create a true digital community with our fans and followers.

  • Launch and oversee our Facebook Community Group by moderating discussions, creating engaging content, responding to member needs, and using insights to strengthen connection and advocacy for the brand, linking to offline activities with the community by supporting the community team.

  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., sales and education) to support total business activities.

  • Proactively comment on relevant accounts to help amplify the brand within skincare’s digital landscape.

  • Regularly (weekly and monthly) report on performance metrics for the channels by analysing data and using learnings to create more content that excels; advise on updates to lead social listening.

  • Track organic sales from social to the brand eCommerce site.

  • Support brand influencer initiatives by working with agencies and the in-house PR team, facilitating relationships with suitable on-brand influencers and integrating their user-generated content into the content calendar.

  • Collaborate closely with the Paid Social Media Manager to develop and execute paid social campaigns, focusing on complementing paid activity, maximizing budget to reach monthly KPIs, and CRM with relevant organic storytelling.

  • Constantly monitor platform developments, including new features and other technologies as they become available.

  • Develop and implement promotions, giveaways and brand collaborations to drive follower count on social platforms.

  • Attend company events to provide on-the-spot coverage for the brand (e.g., new store openings, pop-up events, awards ceremonies).

  • Have an always-on approach to social; some time outside usual office hours (evenings and weekends) may be required.

  • Occasionally present social media strategies and/or training to the wider business, or via webinars/sessions to our B2B customers.

  • Be the business go-to for all things social media, sharing relevant updates with the teams and acting as the thought-leader for social media.
