Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division and seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to deliver planned repair and servicing, directly at members’ drives or in car parks. You’ll work from a structured schedule with full tools, a RAC van, and advanced diagnostics from day one.

You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs, providing expert advice to members. This role offers stability, independent mobile work, and opportunities for EV diagnostics as the business grows.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Perform in‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection results.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work from a pre‑booked digital schedule with a focus on planned work.
