Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll perform planned servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on members’ vehicles from driveways to workplaces, with a fully equipped RAC van and support tools provided.

Work is structured around pre-booked jobs in a defined local area, offering stable hours, overtime options, and opportunities for career development within a national service provider.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is required.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is required.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points is required.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and maintenance.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
