Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You will work on pre-booked, planned service jobs, carrying out routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs with access to a fully equipped RAC van, tools, and support.

Expect a structured schedule, with 40-hour weeks and occasional Saturdays. As part of SMR, you’ll deliver quality repairs away from emergencies, with professional development opportunities including EV and diagnostic skills, and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on client vehicles
• Perform in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection
• Conduct vehicle safety checks to RAC standards

Skills

2+ years LV maintenance experience

5+ years Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

Full UK driving licence (≤6 points)

Education
