Job description
Veterinary Surgeon – Borough of Merton, South London

If you’re a vet who thrives on delivering exceptional care and building lasting relationships with clients, my client would love to welcome you to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well‑established, forward‑thinking practice where your clinical skills and customer focus will be truly valued.

They’re looking for a confident, compassionate Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working in a busy, supportive environment. You’ll be involved in all aspects of first‑opinion care — from preventative medicine and routine consults to treating sick and injured pets. If you have a particular interest in advanced soft tissue surgery or orthopaedics, they’d be especially excited to hear from you. You’ll be working closely with both clinical and non‑clinical colleagues, so being a strong communicator and team player is essential.

The role includes a 1‑in‑4 weekend rota, and you’ll be joining a practice that’s committed to continuous learning and development. The clinical team is made up of vets working towards or holding certificates in areas like ECC and small animal surgery, and are always looking for ways to support each other’s growth. You’ll also be backed by a brilliant Customer Experience Manager and a dedicated team of coordinators who help keep everything running smoothly.

They pride themselves on creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for both pets and people. Based in a vibrant part of South London, the surgery has become a trusted part of the local community — a place where clients know they’ll receive honest advice and outstanding care.

They offer a competitive package designed to support your wellbeing and career development. That includes quarterly recognition payments, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, income protection, and access to an electric car scheme. You’ll also benefit from employee discounts, wellbeing support, funded professional memberships, generous CPD allowance, and internal leadership training. Annual leave starts at 25 days plus bank holidays, giving you time to recharge and enjoy life outside of work.
