Job summary

Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited is seeking a Skilled Worker to join our day to day team in Rochford, working across Rochford, Basildon and surrounding areas. The role delivers responsive maintenance and repairs for residents, in a not-for-profit organisation with a diverse, inclusive culture.

You will carry out diverse tasks including ground works, painting, plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance, with a focus on safety, timely updates, and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
• Proficient with computerised work scheduling systems (including PDA).
• Clear communication skills and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties to help the Operatives on site.
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed.
• Providing accurate and timely information on progress of jobs.
• Collection of rubbish and debris from work areas and dispose in the skip.
• Ferrying of materials to and from the work area.
• Assisting the operatives with works occasionally and any lifting etc.
• Collection and transportation of larger materials on occasions.

Skilled Worker Based at Rumsey House, Rochford - Working across Rochford, Basildon and surrounding areas £27,774 - £29,236 per year 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

We are looking for a Skilled Worker to join our day to day team based in Rochford. As a Skilled Worker you will be responsible for supporting the team of 20 to deliver a responsive maintenance and repairs services to our residents.

Working alongside other Operatives, the role will include collecting rubbish, moving materials, fetching and carrying, ground works, fencing, laying slabs, painting, and general works across several sites across Rochford, Basildon and the surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will be a forward‑thinking individual with a broad skill set across multiple trades, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and general maintenance.

The role of Skilled Worker will include:

• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
• Demonstrable experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
• Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
• Good communication skills
• Driving on company business, requires a full valid UK driving licence

£27,774 per annum (rising to £29,236 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
