Job summary

Sanctuary in Gloucester is recruiting a Multi-Trade Operative to perform carpentry, painting, bricklaying, plumbing and general maintenance in domestic void properties. You’ll join a team with some lone working, and a company van and power tools are provided.

The role requires strong plumbing as a primary trade, plus experience across multiple trades. You’ll work on an emergency rota about 1 in 9 weeks and must hold a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must be NVQ Level 2 in core subjects (carpentry, electrical). If Plumbing Level 3 is required, provide Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). Bring original certifications to interview.

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and restocked as needed.
• Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns, resolving issues or initiating solutions and keeping customers informed.
• Provide accurate and timely information on progress of works in a manner easy for customers to understand.

Multi-Trade Operative

Gloucester – covering Gloucester, Swindon, Bristol and Reading areas

£35,579 - £37,452 per year

40 hours per week

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team. As a Multi-Trade Operative you will be working as part of a team with some lone working also required. These works are predominantly in domestic void properties and duties include carpentry, painting and decorating, bricklaying, plumbing and general maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong plumbing background as their primary trade, complemented by experience across a range of multi-trade disciplines.

Due to the nature of the role, a company van will be provided as well as power tools for you to complete jobs to a high standard.

You will be required to be on an emergency call out rota, which will be approximately 1 in every 9 weeks.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted

• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead

• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
