Job description
Overview

We are seeking to appoint a team of site security officers, to work alongside our well established portering team. These are newly created posts, and the primary responsibility will be to fulfil firewarden and site security duties, alongside the daily portering duties required to maintain a high standard of service throughout the hospital. It is a 35 hour post, and successful applicants will need to be able to work flexibly within a 24 hour period, although the rota is predominantly night shifts.

Responsibilities
  • conduct regular fire checks throughout the shift, and addressing or escalating any issues as they arise.
  • perform site security checks, ensuring the building has been properly secured, and remains so overnight.
  • routine portering duties.
Requirements
  • Essential: A driving licence to drive Health Board vehicles is required.
  • Able to demonstrate literacy, numeracy and comprehension skills.
  • Basic Health and Safety, COSHH, Moving and Handling and Food Hygiene knowledge, or willingness to learn through on the job training.
  • Able to work flexibly as required.
Desirable
  • Food Safety level 2 certificate.
  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1).
  • Category C1 driving licence.
Experience
  • Essential: Experience of dealing with the general public.
  • Desirable: Similar portering experience or some care experience; Experience of handling difficult or violent persons; Training in similar portering duties.
