Job summary

MCR Property Group is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a Bedford-based project. You will be responsible for ensuring schemes are procured efficiently and delivered within budgets, providing commercial expertise from inception to final accounts.

The role is site-based with regular valuations and project reviews, reporting to senior commercial leads. You will work with a delivery team including Project Managers and fellow Quantity Surveyors, contributing to commercial strategy and financial

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor across multiple project types.
Experience in developer, main contractor, or subcontractor environments.
Ability to prepare cost plans and estimates.
Experience with measurement for bills of quantities, tendering and procurement.
Experience with value engineering, tender reporting, interim valuations, and final accounts.
Solid knowledge of building materials, construction techniques and systems.

Responsibilities

Own monthly cost reporting and financial forecasting for projects.
Manage contract and subcontract packages and the variations process.
Lead tendering, procurement, and cost control activities through pre- and post-contract stages.
Prepare cost plans, estimates, and bills of quantities as required.
Oversee valuations on site and contribute to project reviews.
Collaborate with Project Managers and other Quantity Surveyors to support commercial strategy.
