Job summary

MCR Property Group in Bedford is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to drive the commercial and financial delivery of a flagship residential project. You will ensure schemes are procured efficiently and delivered within budgets and programmes, providing hands-on commercial expertise from inception through to final account.

Reporting to the Construction Director and Commercial Director, you will own monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and management of contracts, with exposure to the Board.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor across varied projects.
• Experience in developer, main contractor, or subcontractor environments.
• Ability to prepare cost plans, BOQ measurements, tendering and procurement.
• Value engineering, tender reporting, interim valuations and final accounts.
• Solid understanding of construction processes and building systems.
• Full driving licence and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly cost reporting, financial forecasting and budget control.
• Procurement of subcontract packages and value engineering input.
• Manage variations and provide commercial guidance across projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and other QS colleagues on site.
• Influence commercial strategy and performance across portfolio.
