Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager for our Chorley site. This full-time role oversees bespoke warehouse operations, ensuring safety, service and KPI/SLA delivery while leading teams and managing costs.

Hours are 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility. Salary up to £50,000 plus extensive benefits package and pension. You will drive performance, recruit and develop Team Leaders, ensure regulatory compliance, and build strong customer relationships to boost

Qualifications

• Senior management experience within logistics or supply chain.
• Experience in a unionised environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and influencing capability.
• Data-driven approach to decision making.
• Knowledge of compliance, audit requirements and governance.
• Experience delivering continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, CI) and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, recruit, train, and develop Team Leaders and warehouse colleagues, driving performance and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, UK regulations, company policies, and all required training requirements.
• Create and maintain a safe, engaged, and productive working environment, ensuring clear communication across all teams.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers, identifying opportunities to improve operational performance and service delivery.
• Oversee workforce administration, including time and attendance, payroll processes, resource planning, and operational issue resolution, while supporting wider business needs.
