Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our Chorley site to lead and optimise warehouse operations. You will drive safety, service excellence and KPI attainment while mentoring Team Leaders and colleagues.

Role requires strong stakeholder management, cost control, and a commercially focused, people-driven approach to delivering operational excellence in a fast-paced 3PL environment.

Qualifications

• Senior management experience within logistics or supply chain environments.
• Excellent communication and influencing capability.
• Data-driven decision making and governance understanding.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or CI and continuous improvement.
• Familiar with WMS, SAP and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead, recruit, train, and develop Team Leaders and warehouse colleagues, driving performance and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, UK regulations, company policies, and all required training requirements.
• Create and maintain a safe, engaged, and productive working environment, ensuring clear communication across all teams.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers, identifying opportunities to improve operational performance and service delivery.
• Oversee workforce administration, including time and attendance, payroll processes, resource planning, and operational issue resolution.
