Job Title: Site Manager

Location: Nationwide

Salary: £55,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance

About the Role: The company is a UK-wide fit-out and construction company delivering fast-paced, high-quality projects in the retail, commercial, and public sectors. Known for its no-nonsense, hands-on delivery model, the company combines strong client relationships with operational excellence.

The team is now building out a dedicated delivery team for a retail account. These schemes are quick-turnaround, hands-on, and client-visible – making this an ideal role for a confident, motivated Site Manager who thrives in a fast-paced setting.

Project Details:

Project Values : £400k - £1.3 million

Programme Duration : ~6 weeks per project

Type: Retail refurbishments & fit-outs

Delivery Model : Fast-track, client-facing, and deadline-driven

The Role

As Site Manager, you'll be the No.1 on site – responsible for managing delivery from start to finish, ensuring quality, safety, and programme adherence.

You'll interface daily with subcontractors, internal teams, and the client representatives, maintaining a professional and proactive presence on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end site delivery on fast-paced fit-out projects
  • Interpret incomplete or evolving drawing packages and coordinate accordingly
  • Lead subcontractors, manage daily briefings, and oversee quality and H&S
  • Maintain site diaries, reports, and client communication
  • Liaise with QS, Contracts Manager, and wider team on progress, issues, and risks
  • Represent the contractor professionally in a client-facing role
  • Drive a safe, productive, and collaborative site culture
What We're Looking For
Experience & Background
  • Proven track record delivering fast-track fit-out or refurbishment projects
  • Project values ideally between £400k-£1.3m
  • Experience in shopfitting, retail, or similar sectors highly beneficial
  • Joinery background preferred but not essential
  • Comfortable managing projects with minimal drawings or pre-construction input
Soft Skills
  • Confident, self-sufficient, and highly proactive
  • Problem-solver who can "fill in the gaps" when drawings or scope are unclear
  • Strong communicator - especially with clients and project stakeholders
  • Resilient under pressure and capable of managing tight programmes
  • Team player who supports others and leads by example
Technical Skills
  • IT savvy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to manage emails, reports, RAMS, and site administration
  • H&S knowledge and SMSTS / First Aid required
