Overview

SITE APPRENTICE

Salary: Apprenticeship Rate: £7.55 per hour for the first 12 months of employment. Annual salary per annum: £12,648 per annum (Based upon £7.55 hourly rate).

Contract: Fixed term, 18 months, term time plus 6 days when students are not in the Academy.

Hours: 37 hrs per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30 am – 4.30 pm, Friday 9.00 am – 6.00 pm.

Start Date: Apprenticeship will start as soon as possible.

Ridgeway Primary Academy has a new and exciting opportunity for a Site Apprentice to join our school. The Site Apprentice will join our busy site team to provide general support to the upkeep of the school.

Ridgeway Primary Academy has an excellent reputation and provides a lively and creative environment in which to work. We gained Good in our most recent Ofsted inspection and we are a founding member of Primitas Learning Partnership, a new Multi Academy Trust which seeks to make a positive difference in the local community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, and minor planned and responsive repair works.
  • Use a broad range of fundamental trade skills including: carpentry, joinery, plumbing, plastering, brick and blockwork, external works and associated finishing trades including tiling, painting, and decorating.
  • Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools, materials, components, fixtures and fittings.
  • Ensure that working practices are compliant with health and safety requirements, and meet building safety regulations and legislation.

The successful candidate will complete a Level 2 qualification in Property Maintenance. This will include 1 day of study at Walsall College per week. The broad purpose of the role is to conduct the general day-to-day maintenance required to keep a range of buildings in a good state of repair and ensure compliance.
