Overview

Join a forward-thinking civil engineering contractor delivering one of Newcastle's landmark infrastructure projects — the Central Motorway East (CME) highways scheme. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Agent to take ownership of high-profile works and step up towards Project Manager level with full mentorship and structured career development.

The Role

You'll lead daily site operations to deliver concrete repair and structural maintenance works to the highest quality and safety standards. You'll coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep operations running smoothly — driving results through collaboration, leadership, and forward planning.

  • Manage site delivery ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Supervise teams and subcontractors, providing clear communication and direction.
  • Oversee quality control, environmental standards, and compliance.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Designers, and Clients — maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Produce accurate site records and progress updates.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers to help grow the next generation of site leaders.
What You\'ll Need
  • Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent in highways or civil engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete repair, structural maintenance, and infrastructure works.
  • Sound understanding of health, safety, and quality management systems.
  • IT proficiency (MS Office, digital QA, project software).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential).
  • Temporary Works Coordinator and NEC contract knowledge desirable.
