Job summary

One Stop, a Tesco subsidiary, is seeking a Shift Leader to join our fast-paced retail team. You will run duty shifts, coordinate a team, and deliver a clean, fully presented store that exceeds customer expectations.

As customer-focused leaders, you will coach and provide feedback to improve service, monitor store performance, and take hands-on actions to drive practical improvements while keeping safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team during store duty shifts.
• Customer-focused approach with strong problem solving.
• Understanding of Health & Safety practices in retail.

Responsibilities

• Open/close the store and complete duty cover, ensuring decisions are right for customers, colleagues, and safety.
• Coordinate the team to deliver a clean and well-presented store and smooth customer service.
• Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for day-to-day queries.
• Support the Store Manager to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events.
• Proactively manage queues and ensure staff breaks fit around trade patterns.
• Ensure health and safety routines are followed and communicated to the team.
• Resolve customer queries and escalate to the Store Manager where appropriate.
• Act as a recognised Keyholder for alarm calls and store safety.
