Job summary

One Stop, part of Tesco, is seeking a Shift Leader to join our store team. You will run duty shifts, coordinate a team, and deliver a clean, fully stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.

You will coach and guide colleagues on the shop floor, focus on service improvement, and take ownership of store performance with hands-on leadership. This role emphasizes safety, customer care, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate team to deliver efficient shopping experience.
• Open/close store and manage duty cover for safe operations.
• Be the go-to person for colleagues in absence of Store Manager.
• Support Store Manager with seasonal, community and charity events.
• Keep store clean, tidy and well presented for customers.
• Prioritise replenishment of key products for customers.
• Ensure POS and shelf labels are accurate and up-to-date.
• Address overcharges promptly and prevent recurrence.
• Manage customer queues to ensure smooth shopping trips.
• Coordinate colleagues' breaks to fit around trade patterns.
• Proactively actions to improve store performance and service.
• Follow health and safety routines and promote safety among staff.
• Communicate effectively to keep team informed of updates.
• Suggest operational improvements to Store Manager.
