Shift Production Chemist

Are you a detail-oriented chemist with a passion for safety, optimisation and continuous improvement? Join our dynamic team at the Humber Refinery as a Shift Production Chemist, where you\'ll play a vital role in supporting 24/7 refinery operations. You will work a 12-hour shift pattern and be responsible for analysis to support unit optimisation.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Perform critical analyses to support unit optimisation and ensure timely, accurate results.
  • Manage shift workloads, release data, and communicate key findings to the Lead Production Chemist and refinery units.
  • Interface with operations teams to enhance plant performance.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, reagent management, and lab consumables.
  • Provide detailed handovers and ensure seamless shift transitions.
  • Be trained across all lab areas, including coke testing and product blending.
  • Support out-of-hours sampling and emergency response as a FREC-trained team member.
  • Drive continuous improvement and contribute to HSE and quality audit.

Qualifications & Training
  • Relevant chemistry qualifications and lab experience.
  • FREC training (or willingness to obtain).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

The Humber Refinery is the UK\'s only refiner producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel at scale and the only European facility producing battery anode coke, a key component for lithium-ion batteries.
