Job description

This role requires an experienced Plant Operator to oversee and manage the operations of industrial equipment within the Engineering & Manufacturing department. The position is based in Birmingham and focuses on maintaining operational efficiency and safety standards.

The employer is a well-established organisation within the industrial and manufacturing sector. As a medium-sized company, they specialise in delivering high-quality operational solutions and are committed to maintaining excellence in their field.

Description
  • Report and monitor performance, by operating the plant turbine, boilers, and coordinate incoming and outgoing waste.
  • To maintain a steady control of the above by measuring temperature flow, pressure readings from the turbine/boiler, control systems and gauges.
  • Accurately report readings and log daily operations in the shift log for continued monitoring and shift changeovers.
  • Effectively react to planned and unplanned (i.e. emergency) repairs, blockages and changes in the plant central systems.
  • Promptly react to system alarms/protocols to secure areas of the plant if/as required.
  • Monitoring all areas of the plant from the control room. This includes, operating the overhead crane for the systematic removal of waste, and accessing all areas of the plant.

  • Experience in an Engineering & Manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards within the industrial sector.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications.
