The Shift Manager will be the focal point for daily work throughout the shift, coordinating the on-site maintenance team to ensure all tasks are carried out safely, to a high standard, and within site-specific time constraints. The role involves control and supervision of planned and reactive maintenance, liaising with Engineering management and client personnel, and ensuring work complies with site policies and health and safety requirements. The Shift Manager acts as an Authorised Person, ensuring safety paperwork is completed to a high standard and aligned with company policies and safe systems of work.

Purpose of the Job: CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Shift Manager to join the team located in Slough.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure routine maintenance is carried out on building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed service levels
  • Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed
  • Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems
  • Ensure required switching schedules, SOPs and EOPs are created and used in line with Company policies and SSOW
  • Maintain Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems in line with the L8 standard
  • Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance
  • Keep comprehensive maintenance records via REALM task sheets
  • Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for in-house tasks to ensure safe working practices
  • Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual commitments and site processes
  • Develop good working relationships with CBRE staff and clients’ staff
  • Provide a Safe & Healthy working environment and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Present a professional image of CBRE and deliver excellent customer service
  • Maintain professional and technical skills through personal development
  • Maintain stocks of spares and consumables with secure storage and controlled issue
  • Provide technical leadership of the shift teams
  • Ensure work packs include required documentation including review of Subcontractor RAMS
  • Monitor performance and development of other shift members, including objective setting and reviews
  • Ensure engineers on shift complete required company training tasks
  • Provide site-specific training and mentoring with the site technical support team
  • Foster a strong team culture
  • Manage incidents in the event of unplanned incidents on site
Experience / Skillset Required
  • Manual Handling Training would be an advantage
  • HV Authorisation
  • Current Wiring Regulations certificate
  • Level 3 NVQ in associated discipline
  • Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification
  • Experience in real-time incident/fault management in a business-critical environment
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a similar organisation
  • Strong understanding of health and safety obligations related to maintenance
  • Good verbal communication skills
