Job summary

One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco, is seeking a Shift Leader to manage a fast-paced retail shift and coach a team to deliver top customer service. You will own store duties, drive improvements, and ensure safety and excellent presentation at all times.

The role requires hands-on leadership, effective communication with Area Manager and People Partner, and a focus on delivering a great shopping experience for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Capable of coaching and guiding colleagues on shift.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community.
• Opening/closing the store and completing duty cover, ensuring decisions are right for customers and safety.
• Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Support the Store Manager to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events.
• Keep the store clean, tidy and well presented.
• Prioritise replenishment of products that matter to customers.
• Ensure POS and shelf labels reflect what good looks like.
• Balance service and replenishment, manage queues, and coordinate breaks.
• Escalate issues to the Store Manager when needed.
• Maintain health and safety routines and keep colleagues informed.
