Job summary

SHEQ Business Partner - Construction & M&E Sector

Location: Home-based (UK-wide travel required)

Salary: Up to 65,000 + Company Car or Car Allowance + Benefits

Our client, a leading organisation within the construction and mechanical & electrical (M&E) sector, is experiencing significant growth and has created a brand-new position for a SHEQ Business Partner . This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking business and take ownership of a newly established SHEQ function, adding real value across multiple projects nationwide.

The Role

As SHEQ Business Partner, you will lead health, safety, environment, and quality initiatives across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with senior stakeholders and project teams, you will embed best practices, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all SHEQ disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement SHEQ strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance and support across construction and M&E projects nationwide.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies.
  • Lead audits, inspections, and risk assessments to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
  • Champion a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organisation.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify and mitigate risks proactively.
About You
  • Proven experience in a SHEQ leadership role within construction, ideally with exposure to fit-out or M&E projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across multiple projects and teams.
  • CMIOsh status or actively working towards it (essential).
  • NEBOSH or equivalent qualification.
  • Full UK working rights and a Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Willingness to travel nationally.
