Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory or senior engineer role within a service department.
• Strong mechanical knowledge, especially in heavy plant or construction machinery.
• Experience supervising engineers and coordinating service workloads.
• Capable of fault finding and resolving mechanical issues.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Hands-on approach with ability to manage multiple priorities safely.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the service department and workshop.
• Supervise and support a team of service engineers and fitters.
• Allocate jobs and manage workloads to meet timescales.
• Monitor servicing, maintenance and repair work to high standards.
• Provide technical support to engineers with fault finding and diagnostics.
• Coordinate parts, equipment and resources to minimise downtime.
• Liaise with customers regarding repairs, servicing and issues.
• Ensure work complies with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain service records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and customer service.
