Job summary

Ford and Slater in Leeds, a major DAF Truck dealer, is seeking a Service Advisor to join the newly refurbished Service Department. The role involves managing bookings, preparing estimates, and updating customers on costs and progress.

You will work 45 hours per week across a Monday–Friday pattern with a rotating Saturday morning shift. The position offers career progression and employee benefits in a busy automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Service Advisor or in a similar role in commercial vehicle/motor trade sector.
• Passion for trucks or knowledge of truck/trailer parts is an asset.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair scheduling preferred but not essential.
• Customer-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• PC literate and able to use scheduling/point-of-sale software.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day service bookings and maintain efficient workshop loading.
• Complete and communicate service estimates clearly and quickly.
• Keep customers updated on costs, progress and required authorisations.
• Prepare job cards and raise invoices.

Ford and Slater are one the UK’s largest DAF Truck dealers group with 16 locations from Norwich to Birtley in the North East, employing over 900 staff whilst remaining a family run business.

Due to business growth, we currently have an exciting vacancy for a Service Advisor at our newly refurbished Service Department and DAF Trucks dealership in Leeds.

Who are we looking for as a Service Advisor:

• You will have previous experience working within the commercial vehicle, motor trade or an associated sector as a Service Advisor or in a similar role.
• Or have a passion for trucks and know your truck / trailer parts.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair scheduling preferred but not essential.A customer focused individual with excellent communication skills (both written & verbal).
• PC Literate.
• Full UK driving licence.

The Service Advisor role / responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Managing service bookings on day-to-day basis, ensuring efficient workshop loading.
• Complete service estimates accurately, clearly, and quickly.
• Keep customers up to date with costs, progress and authorisations.
• Prepare job cards & raise invoices.

Working:

45 hours per week, Monday to Friday alternating weeks 6am – 3:30pm / 8:30am – 6pm.

1 in 3 Saturday morning’s, 7am - Midday.
