Job summary

A leading digital consultancy in London is looking for a freelance Senior User Researcher to enhance their subscription-based digital product. The role demands hands-on user research across web and mobile, validating business models, and designing effective strategies. Experience in e-commerce and subscription products is preferred. The position offers a competitive day rate, with a hybrid working arrangement that requires two days on-site each week.

Qualifications

• Background in subscription-based products and/or E-commerce preferred.
• Strong qualitative research skills (quantitative experience beneficial).
• Experience using remote research tools (e.g., UserTesting or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end user research across subscription journeys on web and app.
• Plan and research to validate freemium models, pricing, and monetisation.
• Run discovery activities, including user interviews, usability testing, and concept validation.

Skills

Strong qualitative research skills

Experience with subscription-based products

Familiarity with analytics platforms

Experience using remote research tools

Confident framing of research questions
