Job Description:

Pro currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Underwriting Support Assistant to be part of our Insurance Services team. The job holder will assist the Underwriting Support Managers (USMs) and (re)insurance underwriters in delivering high-quality client service.

The role reports to Pro Global but is based within a London-based insurer within the Underwriting Operations function. Daily work will be allocated and supervised by the USMs & Underwriting team. The role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, combining home and office work in London.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities vary depending on the team and business class, including (but not limited to):

  • Oversight of USA roles: submission clearance, quote and policy documentation preparation, risk data entry, regulatory reporting support.
  • Adherence to London insurers' Ethical and Service Standards.
  • Monitoring workflows using tools like OWL, QUAIL, CROW, ensuring timely task completion.
  • Data quality management: correcting exceptions/errors identified through DQIM.
  • Monitoring underwriting metrics and data accuracy.
  • Ensuring activity in electronic platforms reflects in client systems (Insurance only).
  • Financial close activities, including bookings and data remediation.
  • Managing workload, including risk submissions, endorsements, renewals, and resource allocation.
  • Monitoring and sharing underwriting dashboards.
  • Supporting administrative activities and projects as needed.
  • Line management of a small team, including appraisals, 1:1s, and objectives.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • Desirable prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • At least 3 years’ relevant (re)insurance industry experience, especially in Underwriting.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Discretion in resolving process issues within global outsourcing models.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Flexibility to work during peak periods.
  • Effective prioritization and organization skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Experience in work allocation and meeting SLAs/tight deadlines.
  • Good relationship-building skills.
