Job summary

AECOM’s Town Planning team in the UK is seeking a Senior Town Planner to support major infrastructure and development projects. The role offers a challenging and diverse workload across energy transition, rail, water, and regional developments, with opportunities to influence planning strategies and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline (desirable).
• Experience in planning applications.
• Sound knowledge of English planning policy and legislation.
• Membership of RTPI (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Project Coordination and Delivery: assist in delivery of major development applications and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Planning Advice and Strategy: provide planning advice on consent requirements and permitted development rights.
• Documentation and Application Management: write Planning Statements and manage planning applications with stakeholders.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: work with Environmental Impact Assessment team and participate in meetings.
• Research, Business Development, and Project Management: contribute to tenders and conduct planning research.
