Job summary

AECOM in the UK is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join a national team. You will handle a diverse workload on major infrastructure projects across energy, rail and water sectors, while working within a flexible hybrid model from multiple offices including Chesterfield.

You will deliver planning strategies, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and liaise with local authorities to obtain planning consent, with opportunities to contribute to tenders and business development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline (desirable).
• RTPI membership or an equivalent professional body (desirable).
• Experience working on planning applications.
• Sound knowledge of English planning policy and legislation.
• Commercial awareness and ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Client focus with a collaborative working approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering major development applications and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Support project management and apply quality and health and safety principles.
• Provide planning advice on consent requirements and permitted development rights.
• Carry out planning research and assist with feasibility reports and consent strategies.
• Write Planning Statements and Design and Access Statements for development applications.
• Lead, submit and manage planning applications, liaising with local authorities and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Environmental Impact Assessment team and participate in meetings.
• Contribute to tender preparation and planning research.

Degree in Town Planning

RTPI membership (desirable)
