Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Town Planner to lead infrastructure planning projects across the UK, with a focus on DCOs. You will work on renewables, energy, transport, water, and housing developments, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and liaising with local authorities.

Hybrid working is supported across multiple UK offices. You will join a market-leading planning team responsible for high-profile national projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline, RTPI membership recommended.
• Significant experience leading planning applications for major infrastructure projects.
• Expert witness experience would be advantageous.
• Strong client and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage delivery of major development applications.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across project types.
• Submit and manage planning applications; liaise with local authorities and stakeholders.
• Provide planning advice on consent requirements and development rights.
• Contribute to business development and client relationship building.
• Collaborate with Environmental Impact Assessment teams and attend meetings.
• Oversee project delivery with emphasis on quality and health & safety.
