Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • To supervise, record and analyse the operation of the decontamination equipment ensuring routine tests are completed in accordance with Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules, Quality Standards and Guidance.
  • To undertake investigations into non-conformance reports as required.
  • To ensure routine testing of decontamination equipment at the appropriate intervals to analyse and take appropriate action on any malfunction.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
  • Experience in the decontamination of reusable medical devices-surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes; using traceability systems, decontamination equipment and independent monitoring system.
  • Enthusiastic and ability to motivate others.
Desirable Criteria
  • Degree in medical device decontamination or equivalent level of knowledge.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
