Overview

We have a excellent new opportunity for a Senior Stress Engineer, based in Warrington, working in the nuclear industry.

Initially 6m with scope for extension.

SC Security Clearance would be required for this role so, if not already held, candidates should hold British Nationality and Passport and not have worked outside the UK during the past 5 years.

Essential requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in: General Finite Element analysis experience
  • ANSYS Workbench or equivalent (e.g. ABAQUS/Standard)
  • LS-DYNA or equivalent (e.g. ABAQUS/Explicit)
  • Identification of load paths for assessment purposes
  • Able to understand and interpret engineering drawings
  • Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Generation of high-quality technical reports
  • Checking technical output from other colleagues
Desirable experience
  • ANSYS Mechanical / APDL
  • ANSYS SpaceCalm / Discovery
  • Non-linear and dynamics
  • Thermal Analysis
  • Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
  • LS-Pre-Post
  • Hyperworks / Hypermesh
  • Traditional hand calculations
  • Structural assessment to common design codes and standards
  • Assessment of Fatigue (e.g. BS 7608)
  • Use of Mathcad Prime for technical calculations
  • Understanding of Geometric Product Specifications (BS 8888)
  • Able to supervise junior members of staff as needed
